São Paulo may come across as a city full of high-rise buildings only, but it has plenty of nicer areas for Paulistanos to escape the hectic city life, among others Ibirapuera Park. Besides being a perfect place to exercise, this park houses a number of museums, of which Museo Afro Brasil is in my opinion by far the best. It displays an interesting mixture of ethnological and contemporary art. In search of modern architecture the OCA is another building worth visiting when you are in the park. The use of curvy lines might reveal the architect to you. It is designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer back in 1954 in honour of the four hundred years anniversary of São Paulo.
